Over thirty years of friendship across even states and continents and many phases of life. Valerie Boyd was always there for my husband, Daniel Minter and I. What a gift she is to humanity! Tim and family sorry for your loss prayers

Our family holds all of the family and close friends of Valerie in our prayers. The loss of Valerie is profound as there will never be an equal to her spirit, humbleness and excellence. We met back in Atlanta decades ago during her time at HealthQuest Magazine with Sara Lomax Reese. To The Boyd's Family, My prayer and sympathy goes out to you and family at this time. Valerie was a very good friend of my sister, Sarah Minnifield. Continuing to lift the family up in prayer. 2 Timothy 4:7-8

So sorry for your loss. She was an inspiration to me and many others!

Remembering Valerie´s light. I also, remember a friend calling me from Howard University in DC to let me know she got Valerie´s autograph! Priceless memories! She will be missed. Condolences to the family & friends.

To the Family of Valerie Boyd. We will miss Valerie as a niece and cousin. She will remain in our hearts and minds always. The Lord is close to all who call on Him. Psalm 145:18 As you walk through this time of loss, may you know that the Lord walks with you and He will comfort you. Sincerely, Aunt Eunice & Frank

I had the great privilege of meeting Valerie at Chautauqua a few years ago and we spent some quality time together. I then read her Hurston bio and heard her speak. What a wonderful human being and gifted writer.

I remember when her biography of Zora Neale Hurston came out, it opened a whole universe to me. I am grateful for her gift and sad not to see more of her work.
