I'm so sorry to read that Val has passed away, she taught me to ride as a jockey when I was 10 (Vals family were Living in Tasmania, Australia then) and women at that time werent allowed to ride against men but it didnt stop Val from encouraging my dream (which I made into a very successful career).
I have very fond memories of Val, Tara and Guy.
I named my daughter Tara.
