Not sure what to say?

I remember a fun time when we were all floating down the Klamath River one very hot and spirited afternoon when I paddled my oar it missed the mark and threw water all over Val and it startled her so much it knocked her into the River!! I think she initially wanted to tell me where to go but faced a hysterical group of people and began to realize it was all in good fun in the heat of the Klamath summer. Val was a good sport and was great company

Just this weekend, I was cleaning out my drawer and found your funeral program. I held it in my hands and thought of all the things you taught me. It was my pleasure to know you.

I can not believe its been 4 years. My wish for your family, is to have peace and happiness, knowing that you made a positive difference in so many lives. May you continue to rest in peace.

Your Mom, Grandmother and Wife was such an inspiring and dedicated teacher. She had a wonderful sense of humor as well. She made learning a joy. My thoughts are going out to you all at this time.

May you RIP Professor Goines, I had you for the best three years in ECE classes. You would always be there for all my questions before class and even during your lunch hours. I am so saddened to hear about this, but God wanted you as his angel. You will for ever be missed.

Our prayers and deepest sympathies go out to all of Val's family.

How sad I am to learn about the passing of Val. How happy I am that I had her in my life as a colleague, mentor, and friend. I learned a lot from Val and will always remember her fondly. My sincere condolences to her family. I will miss Val with all my heart. Heaven just got another angel.

I knew Valerie 37 years ago. Micheal was my boyfriends brother. We spent a few days with them in the Marble Mt Wilderness. We had just met her and even under not so wonderful circumstances for her as we hiked up a large elevation and tried to cook (our dinner fell off the stove and landed in the dirt) and sleep in the wilderness while it rained, tired and exhausted and now hungry we still had a lot of laughs about it all at that time. She was the kind of person that you just had to love. ...

I met Val 12 years ago, she was my first ECE professor as I was figuring out my career and life after completing my undergraduate degree. Who would have know it would all come full circle and she would once again be mentoring me and this time as a colleague. I was privileged to have had her as a professor, mentor, colleague and friend. She is greatly missed!
