GOLDFEIN--Valerie, passed away in her sleep on November 13, 2022. She is survived by her husband Bob, her three children John, Doug and Maggie and her five grandchildren Jake, Phoebe, Lucas, Charlotte and Lindsey. Valerie's happiest moments were spent with her family delivering joy and cheer. She reveled in their achievements and successes. But Valerie had another passion. She was determined to help women with gynecological cancer. With that in mind she started a program called Women to Women at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC. She worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the program. Today the charity operates in thirty three hospitals across the country as well as several overseas. For her efforts she has been the recipient of many acknowledgements including being named woman of the year by The New York Times. A funeral will be held at Frank E Campbell's, 1076 Madison Avenue, on November 25, 2022 at 10:00.

I was only her housekeeper in Palm Beach, but Mrs. Goldfein never treated me as such. She never referred to me as her "maid" or "housekeeper". Instead, she always introduced me as her friend, Rosa. I appreciated any time someone called me her maid, as she would correct them and ask to call me Rosa. Although Valerie asked me to call her by her first name, I would call her Mrs. Goldfein. A member of my family is on the ASM, and she truly understood the challenges. I am grateful for meeting, and working for, Mrs. Goldfein. She truly will be missed.
