I was only her housekeeper in Palm Beach, but Mrs. Goldfein never treated me as such. She never referred to me as her "maid" or "housekeeper". Instead, she always introduced me as her friend, Rosa. I appreciated any time someone called me her maid, as she would correct them and ask to call me Rosa. Although Valerie asked me to call her by her first name, I would call her Mrs. Goldfein. A member of my family is on the ASM, and she truly understood the challenges. I am grateful for meeting, and working for, Mrs. Goldfein. She truly will be missed.

It is with incredible sadness that the H.O.W. - Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper Board of Directors, mourns the passing of fellow board member, Valerie Goldfein. We would also like to extend sincere condolences to her family and friends! Valerie was exceptional - from her thoughtfulness, kindness and courage - to her invaluable commitment and generosity to our board and to the community. She touched so many lives and will be greatly missed! Jennifer McGrath, Executive Director
