All my condolences to you, Terry and Hannah, for you shared this marvelous lady with many of us at Lee Heights Church. She generously served our Congregation with unfailing grace, intelligence, and beauty. Never asking for thanks, she did it all for love! And we loved her back! God bless you!

I grew up with Valerie, sort of like cousins. As we grew older we lost touch and grew apart. It hurts my heart to read of her passing.

My first encounter with Mrs. Hinton was as a student at Cleveland State University. She had to discipline me but the meeting turn into a lifetime of advice that I will never forget. I could tell she was a different person, full of grace, honor and principled. Inside that room that day, she counseled, gave me advice, and yelled at me graciously and then said she's "proud of me and my accomplishments." She gave me a chance and spoke to me about life. Valerie was a true leader and advocate for honest communication and conflict resolution and I am honored to have worked with her. I learned much from her grace and wisdom.

Valerie was an incomparable friend and boss. I was shocked to read of her passing. She was the epitome of kindness and class,and always my support system. I loved her greatly- I marveled at her intelligence, wit and endless sensitivity.
