Not sure what to say?

Miss Val was such a wonderful soul who would always lend an ear and tell her stories in turn. I loved staying behind after class and just chatting with her, she was the coolest lady ever. When I kind of began to struggle she offered me guidance and support and I will forever be appreciative of her. I'll never forget you Miss Val. May you rest in peace.

Valerie was an amazing person whom I have admired for years. She was truly one of a kind - an intellectual, a lover of the humanities, a witty sense of humor, and a desire to make the world a better place through her teaching. There is a testimony about her posted on his Newsfeed by one of her students, Curtis Bathurst, which says it all. She was a remarkable woman and teacher- her lagacy will live on in her students and all who knew her.

Sympathy to the family.
Enjoyed teaching with Valerie at Butler High School.

I've known Val for over 20 years as a fellow Art teacher, through the Huntsville-Madison County Art Ed Association, where she served on the board for many years. She was a wonderful Art teacher and artist. She has been so supportive of Arts education and has been a a wonderful friend to so many of us. Her caring nature and sense of fun and humor will be missed.

Val was my professor at UAH and was going to be my mentor for my teaching internship this semester. She had the most joyful laugh that I can still hear, and I will always remember her advice, knowledge, and humor. She made such an impact on me in the short time that I knew her, but I will always appreciate the time I had with her. I hope her family knows just how much of an impact she made on her students and anyone she ever met. In loving memory of a wonderful wonderful woman.
