Val and I worked in the same department of a college in the United Arab Emirates. She was an excellent and dedicated English teacher. She has been very selective to have friends. You will be missed dearly, Val. Rest in peace!

Valerie was a good friend in our days working in the United Arab Emirates. We had loads of happy times and some lovely adventures. She was intelligent - very - and fun to know. The world has lost a treasure and she was too young to die. RIP Valerie

I am Doug Hudlin's stepdaughter. Doug , Agnes and Len & Vera Scott were friends from Vic West Soccer. I babysat the three of you, Paul, Valerie and Peter when you were very little. I remember Peter had chickenpox.

I met Val when she was teaching in the Emirates and found her an exceptionally hard working colleague who got on very well with everyone, especially her students. Val was very kindhearted, always smiling and ready to laugh. She'll be missed by those who were lucky enough to know her.

I remember Val from our Uvic days in the early 70s. We were both enrolled in Physical Education classes to become teachers...and she was a solid tennis player. Val had a great laugh and warm smile and was always fun to chat with. I wish we had had the opportunity to visit over the years. Sad to hear she's past.

Val was a classmate of mine while attending UVIC together. She was always happy-go-lucky with a huge smile for everyone & always a delight to be around. Sad to have to say good-by but a better person for knowing her. Jody Hunter, Wells BC

I met Val in the early `70s. Such fond memories of her warm smile and hearty laugh. She attended my wedding in Calgary in 1979. Lost touch with her thereafter. So sorry to hear of her passing. Condolences to her brother, Peter. RIP, Val.
