Not sure what to say?

The mere mention of Van's name still brings a smile to my face, as does the name Barndt. Regret so much Jack & I didn't attend Van's service; so glad I did get to see & hear him speak @ both Bill & Laura's. My late husband, Jack, worked for ARC Industries & spoke fondly of Van, too! PEACE BE WITH US ALL - Lynn

I can't imagine how hard this is for all of you.....Van made such a deep imprint on my life. He was a transformative presence on this earth. A rare a gift of a human being. Thank you for the wonderful obit, and for all the ways in which you all embody that same love and warmth of spirit. Van, I hope you know what you meant to all of us, far and wide. Go forth in beauty, my friend.

One could not know a more loving & lovely family. Whether while attending church as a child, or riding COTA in college, to passing by the dedicate peace advocates at 161 & High on a Saturday morning seeing Van or any member of the Barndt family always has brought a smile to my heart. From our wedding at Pilgrim Hills (where Beth & I - also celebrated our b-days together) & officiated by Rev Bill (aka our retreats' square dance caller), I have a cherished photo of Van generously helping our...

Van reflected Christ's love through his love and smile. We feel blessed to have known him through Dublin Community Church. Barbara & Chris Altenburg

Van was such a loving person and a delight to all. Her will be missed. Peace to the family.

I have remembered Van often over the years and wondered how he was doing. He has lit my life since I was a teen, and I am sure he will continue to shine. My condolences to Beth and Tom, and everyone else. Not Ohio, but Italy.

Van, you always made me smile when you greeted me on Sunday mornings. You didn't know it but you made a difference in my life. Someday we will sing together "You are my sunshine" with the angel chorus. Love you.

Matthew 5: 14-16 "You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the World. Keep open house; be generous with your lives. Be open to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God." Van has been such a light to our family these many years. He will be missed but his light will shine for ever.

Kathy and Tom and all of Van's family, you carried on what Bill and Laura began, giving Van as normal of a life as possible! I recall how much he loved his records and shared that with us when we visited. His hugs, his joy, seeing Lance and I was wonderful. All of you were a part of his joy! Marilyn Shreffler
