Not sure what to say?

Dear Burgess Family: I just learned of your loss and extend my condolences. I have not seen Van since high school, but have many fond memories of those times. Van was a valued friend and I always considered him to be one of the 'good guys'. My best to JoAnn, who I also considered one of my most valued friends.

Dear Clive and Jewel:

I want to express my sympathy over the passing of your father(in-law), Van.

I didn't know him personally; but what I did know was positive and uplifting. And if he was anything like the two of you, he was awesome!

May you be comforted in this time of sorrow, and know that you are thought of and revered.

While visiting with Clark and Nora years ago, Van ask if I wanted to see how the irrigation was done as It was his turn for the water. After he opened the gates he took me on a tour of Alpine. I value that time spent with him.

We appreciate the great example Van Burgess was to our son-in-law,a wonderful grandfather to our grand children, and caring father-in-law to our daughter.
We feel privileged to have known him.

Dear Burgess Family: We extend our condolences to you with the passing of your loved one. We pray that the comforting spirit of the Lord will attend you in the hours and days to come. Van always treated us with kindness in the years we lived in Alpine. Stan and Jean Anderson; Beaver, Utah

Our condolences to the Burgess Family. Van was a special person to us. It was a privilege to work with him when he was the Deputy Commissioner at the Department of Agriculture & Food. I have never met a person that had so much integrity in doing his job.
His kindness always acknowledging our children whenever he met them, and making them feel special.

In sympathy,

Gayle and I join in extending our sympathy to the entire Burgess family at the passing of our dear friend and neighbor Van. Many are the sweet memories we share of his goodness and influence. May the peace promised by the Lord accompany all of you at this time of sorrow and loss.
