Van Niforos

RIP, sir.

I remember fun times with Van and Harvey DeJager at "Suppers for Seven" when he was a member of the East Side Christian Reformed Church. When it was his turn to host, he served an elegant dinner with individual orchids at each table setting. He had a wonderful sense of humor and often had us laughing until tears rolled down our cheeks! We also enjoyed small group Bible studies and other activities. My sincere sympathies go out to his family and many friends.

Van: Your smile, laugh, love of life, and genuine kindness have been an inspiration to me. You will be missed my dear friend. Jim and you are finally re-united. Have a blast.

Was one of the great teachers at OFHS , cant think of him and not see him smile or laugh about something every day. Truly a memorable soul! May he Rest In Peace.

Mr. Niforos (as he was known to me) was my favorite teacher and friend in high school. Over the many years since I graduated, I have thought of him often and with great affection. May he Rest In Peace.

My thoughts and prayers to his husband, family and friends. I never hear anything by Edgar Alan Poe without Mr. Niforos coming to mind.

Van was one of my favorite residents to spend time with when I volunteered at St Marys. I never saw him without a smile on his sweet face. He almost always was up for participating in the activities there. Such a beautiful soul❤♥
