Dear Arnaud Family, On behalf of the College of Arts and Letters at Sacramento State, please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of Dr. Vanessa Herold Arnaud. Though I did not have the privilege of knowing her personally, I have come to learn that her presence here was nothing short of extraordinary. Dr. Arnaud´s life was a radiant testament to intellectual curiosity, cultural passion, and human kindness. Her dedication to French and Francophone literature, her pioneering spirit...

I just came across this and I am absolutely heartbroken to find out Dr. Arnaud has passed. She was the professor of the very first class I had my first day at Sac State and she was a stalwart of the Honors Program. I also met one of my lifelong best friends (and many other great friends!) in her class. My condolences to the family.

Vanessa´s kindness and professionalism left a lasting impression on everyone she worked with. Even in my brief interactions with her, it was clear how deeply she cared for her students and her work at Sacramento State. My heartfelt condolences to her family and all who loved her.
