VASIE CUNNINGHAM Obituary
Vasie E. Cunningham, age 93 of Tazewell, Tenn., was born June 20, 1920, and passed away May 8, 2014, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva Cunningham; parents Rev. Hence and Dovie Smith; sister, Versie Bowman; brothers, John (Eula), Dester (Jean), Tim, H.C. and T.H. Smith; sister-in-law, Roberta Smith.
She is survived by her children: Dovie (Charles) Harris, Bill (Okle) Cunningham, Alva, Jr. (Irene) Cunningham, Clara (Andy) Morgan, Steve (Susan) Cunningham all of Tazewell, Tenn. Grandchildren: Randy Cunningham, Chris Harris, Vicki Rowe, Lori Burchett, Andrea Lakins, Rebekah Cunningham. Great-grandchildren: Trevor Mize, Hannah Rowe, Ella Burchett, Lorali Lakins, Dylan Burchett, Savannah Harris (unborn). Sister: Ely (Clyde) Cook of Andersonville, Tenn. Brother: Dewey Smith. Sisters-in-law: Jean Smith, Sandy Smith, Nancy Smith. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family received friends from 4 until 7 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell with funeral service at 7 p.m. Saturday night in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial at 11 a.m. Sunday in the Liberty Cemetery.
Ministers: Rev. Jeremy Buchanan and Rev. John Hall.
Singers: Jeremy Buchanan and The Revelations.
Pallbearers: Dennis Buchanan, Dustin Lakins, Anthony Rowe, Anthony Burchett, Dennis Estes and Wayne Estes.
Honorary Pallbearers: Chris Harris, Randy Cunningham.
Coffey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
