Not sure what to say?

Fifty years ago Vaughn showed up in Baker, Or. He made friends quickly. He and I went to a Timber Carnival competition in Sumpter. He really got excited watching the loggers show their skills. Well, eventually he wandered off. When he comes back he tells me he entered us in the crosscut saw event!! The announcer made a big deal about 'newcomers' and the competitors better be aware of this new team. Someone loaned us a saw and away we went ! (HAHAHA) Not only did we place last, but DEAD LAST...

Vaughn and Sharon will be remembered as kind and beautiful persons. They will be remembered with fondness and joy. Pop a smoke Vaughn

friendship that has lasted all these past years. Vaughn was a curious man who sincerely wanted to know you as an individual. He was open to new people and new areas. A good man. In recent years we began meeting for lunch and shared good memories. And now it's time to say "Good Bye Partner".

Vaughn and Sharon both were good neighbors, these past 31 years. My kids loved their generous candy at Halloween, and I appreciated catching up with them on walks as they were so often out in the yard. We always watch out for each other here, and was wonderful to have a resource when the chainsaw needed some tuning up, or if I had need of someone with skill and a large saw blade.

So sorry to hear about Vaughn's passing. I worked iron with Vaughn over the years. One time there was 5 of us working on a bridge. It was lunch time and 4 of us were sitting together eating, Vaughn was eating by himself. I said hey Vaughn are you anti-social? He said " Have you ever seen me eat? It's not pretty." Vaughn will be missed. Ron Stover

Vaughn was a long time friend and patron of The Hoppy Brewer. Vaughn was such a regular that he was like a fixture of the place...lol... Vaughn couldn't wait to get to Hoppy's, he'd show up daily and at times before Hoppy's would open and would always be accompanied by Ticker and Blue. Vaughn enjoyed good beer and always had a story or two to tell and delivered in a colorful manner. Vaughn was loved, and now missed by all.

Celebration of Life will take place right after the Memorial Service from 12-3pm 10/21 Friday. The Aerie at Eagle Landing, 10220 SE Causey Ave, Happy Valley, OR 97086 Please RSVP to Gracie Hann [email protected]. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Sending love to you and your family

Sharon was my beautiful, witty older cousin, who was often asked to model White Stag clothing although that was not her job. She always seemed quite glamorous to me, her admiring younger cousin.
