First, I am deeply sorry for your lost. Velma Brooks was such an inspiration to me. She will be remembered by me and others as a true pioneer of the Velma "B" Beauty Academy.

I WAS 3 YRS. OLD TRYING TO EMULATE THE GROWN UPS LAYING SOMETHING ON THE STOVE THEN PUTTING. IT TO MY HAIR. I WENT OUTSIDE FOUND A STICK FROM A TREE LIMB AND LAYED IT ON THE STOVE AND PUT THE STICK TO MY HAIR. I DID NOT SPEND 3 DAYS IN THE HOSPITAL AT 3 YRS. OMG, Terry and Daryl, I just read that your Mom passed on Brandi McGruder's page. I didn't want to believe it was true. You know I loved your mom so much. She was always so sweet to me and she did the hell out of my hair. My condolences and love to you and your entire family. I wished I had known so I could have attended her service. Is it possible for you to mail an obituary to me? I know it's a lot to ask, but she was very special to me! A legend has left the building!
