Velma Sue Estep Cox Funeral Home Bastrop, Louisiana BASTROP, LA. Funeral services for Mrs. Velma Sue Estep will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop, Louisiana. Reverend Dalyn Helbling will officiate the services. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery of Bastrop under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. Velma Sue Estep was born March 7, 1930 to the late Robert Harvey Perry and Ollie Kemp Perry. She passed away peacefully on October 3, 2014 at The Terrace of Bastrop. Mrs. Estep was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Ervin Estep, Jr. Mrs. Sue Estep was a lifelong member of the First Church of God of Bastrop where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and youth leader for many years. She was also a faithful "Prayer Warrior". Mrs. Estep enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and attending ballgames of her sons and grandsons. An excellent cook, she received much enjoyment preparing and serving her family Sunday dinners. Her kindness and gentleness were a blessing to her family and many friends. She is survived by her four sons, Kenneth Wayne Estep and his wife, Cheryl, Danny Bruce Estep, Michael Lynn Estep and his wife, Laverne, all of Bastrop, Louisiana and George Doug Estep and his wife, Jerri of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is also survived by her twin brother, Elmer Perry of Marion, Kentucky; a sister, OZ Yates of Bastrop, Louisiana; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Gayle Johnston of Bastrop. Serving as pallbearers are Doyle Jinks, Kenny Estep, Chad Estep, Randy Estep, Jodi Perry, and Rick Cook. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
