Not sure what to say?

Velma, was.... no, is my Grandmother, and one of the strongest, hardworking, most giving people that I have and probably will ever know. I want to let everyone know that my family and I greatly appreciate all that you have done for us. As much as my Grandmother meant to all of you is as much as you all mean to us. Once again, THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING!!

I first met Velma at the Girl Scout Leaders' Weekend - LEAP. Year after year inevitably we always picked the same workshops. She was an incredibly dedicated Girl Scout volunteer. I will always remember lying in my tent on those weekends and hearing Velma's booming laughter coming from the nearby tent! I always told her and her Girl Scout pals that I wanted to be like them when I growup.
To Velma's family - my prayers and thoughts are with you.

...

Velma Kiraly was a wonderful woman, who unconditionally accepted me as her granddaughter. She has taught me how great life is and that there is no limit to what you can accomplish. She will always be in my heart and never forgotten. Love Armoni and Marlena

In the few years that I have worked with Velma, there is one thing that truly sticks out in my mind about her. She absolutely loved all of the youths that she served so diligently for years. We all, leaders and kids in Boy/Girl scout programs will truly miss her for years to come. Debbie and family our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you mourn the loss of your Mom. Velma, suffer no more because you have been called home by the Father. God Bless!!!!

I would like to thank Velma for introducing not only myself but my daughter Susan and more recently my grand daughters Stephanie and Ashley to the world of Girl Scouting. She was a mentor and a friend and if she is looking down on this I would like to offer her a laugh by submitting the following:

"MY ODE TO VELMA'
