Vera made learning so fun for her Science students. She made teaching fun for all of us as she inspired excitement in the classroom. Vera exemplified what a teacher should be. I was so fortunate to be able to work and laugh with her. She was just the best!

We have such wonderful memories with Vera, Gene, Kim, and the entire Heckman family. Many gatherings at our parents house where music and laughter was always present! Vera was such a special woman, and so dedicated ! ! I remember joining her and her science class to Fort Bragg to the tide pools along the ocean, where she was able to give everyone a hands-on experience! Such a wonderful teacher! Sending love and prayers to the entire family!!
