It was a few years before I knew that Vera was clergy. I just knew there was something spirtual about her home. She used to ask me to go a little lighter with the tongs. So in my first few years I was out in front, and my tongues fell apart while I was using them. Before I even knew about Vera's rich history, I looked at her and said "i swear Walter split them."
