Not sure what to say?

Vera was so influential in my early years. She was always so kind and supportive. I loved her very much. Tom, Dick, I am so sorry for your loss.

Vera was a very special neighbor to us at Sauvie Island. She loved the land and always wanted to preserve its natural beauty. She was interested in the trees, the pheasants and of course her beloved black labs. We did not know Vera prior to her retirement, but it was obvious to us that she remained interested in Oregon, current events and the political scene locally and nationally. She will be missed by all who knew her. Joe and Mary McFarland

Dick and Family, We are very sorry for your loss. With sympathy and love, Susan Hereford and daughter Lily Jaskiel

Very few of us get the chance to impact others outside our circle of friends and relatives. Vera did however. Her work politically affected others she didn't even know. She was always very kind to me. I'm sorry we lost such a giving person. I know my mom will be happy to see her arrive up younder. There they can spend many happy memories.

I worked at BPA as a writer-editor with Vera. She was a mother-substitue for me and worked to help me "mesh". I thouht highly, then, and now of her.
She was more than a colleague. Gerri Sue Lent

Josh and Tess, I Love you Both so Very Much.

Vera was an inspiration and mentor to me at BPA. Her 1976 history of the place is still the best of its several histories. She was warm, professional and just plain fun. She was a delightful person. All joy to you in your memories of her.

Vera was a special lady to us. She recieved Meals on Wheels for several years and our drivers always enjoyed her and her dog. She lead an amazing life and we are thrilled she was a part of our Meals on Wheels family.

Vera Springer had a big impact on me.

After graduating from high school, I spent several months volunteering in the Portland office of my aunt Senator Maurine Neuberger. Vera ran the office alone, but people were constantly dropping in and hanging around because she was so good to talk to: warm and lively and plain-spoken and well informed and shrewd.

I had no skills; all I did was clip newspaper articles and talk to Vera all day. No other adults I knew talked to me as she...
