Vera Olive "Beena" WOODS

Obituary

December 11, 1920 to January 03, 2012

We are sad to announce the passing of our Mom Vera. She slipped away peacefully with only one regret, that she never learned to play the steel guitar. Born on the farm in St. Brieux, Saskatchewan she met and married our Dad Chuck. She was a country girl, settling in Cassidy to raise her family. She was always up to her elbows in bread dough or dishwater. Known and lauded for her cinnamon buns, lasagne and excellent sense of humour, she was a true and loyal friend. Someone once said she was the best cook in Cassidy and we think they were right. Mom also loved crafts, sewed beautifully and created many fabulous memories with her needle work. Lastly, she really was beautiful inside and out. She spent her last months at The Gardens at Qualicum Beach and we wish to thank the nurses and aids who were so kind. Mom was predeceased by her husband Chuck in September 2004, her brothers Cliff, Ted, Jim, sisters Joyce and Verna (Mom's twin). She is survived by daughters Valerie (Mike), Sharon (Frank) and grandson Clayton and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no service by request. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of, please donate to the charity of your choice.
