Vera Janice "Mimi" Yates

Yates, Vera Janice "Mimi" Ypsilanti, MI Age 78, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Glacier Hills Nursing Center. She was born June 15, 1938 in Yale, MI, the daughter of Roy Wilbur and Vera Irene (Kaercher) Ross. Janice was employed by General Motors, Willow Run plant in the chemical management department until her retirement. She was a faithful member of Belleville Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: her daughter Vicky Lynn (David) Sanchez of CA; grandchildren, Stephanie Lynne Martin of NC, Jaime Lynne McCutcheon of NC, Katelyn Jane McCutcheon serving in the U.S. Army and Joshua David Sanchez of CA; great grandchildren, Justice Windy-Dae Cuddie and Noah James McCutcheon; one brother Robert (Patricia) Ross of FL and nieces and nephew, Tami (Larry) Withrow, Robert (Paula Ross Jr. and Michele (Jeff) Bergermann. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband Noble Lynn Yates. The funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Belleville Presbyterian Church, 11900 Belleville Road, Belleville where the family will receive friends from 10 am until time of service Thursday. Cremation will follow and burial of her ashes next to her parents in Elmwood Cemetery, Yale, MI will take place in the spring. Contributions in her memory may be made to Arbor Hospice.
