Verdaine Holsteen

My deepest sympathy to the family. Verd counseled my daughter and me after my husband passed away. He helped us so much and I know he truly cared about us. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Was thinking of you all this morning and thought to come read Verdaine's obituary. What a legacy he left for his family in a life well lived for his beloved God. Have been and will continue to lift you, his family, up in prayer in the days and weeks to come. What a grand day it will be when you all see him again in heaven.

Verd was such a sweet and kind soul. I was just thinking of him. I fondly remember him reciting scripture during our visits. Much love to your family and to you, Verd. The world was better for your being in it.

Verd and I had a lot in common--both Wheaton and Dallas, for starters. He was surely the major reason Topeka Bible Church asked this young single 26 year-old to become senior pastor, and for years served as lead elder and teacher at TBC. He and his family were a major part of my horizon in the 70's and 80's, and TBC owes much of what it is today to his wisdom, teaching, and leadership. It's difficult to imagine him gone. My sympathies go to Bernie and his children, whom Melody and I love.

I enjoyed working for Verd at the VA SWS. He was always kind and willing to share his wisdom. May God bless Verd and his family with peace.

Dear Family of Mr. Holsteen. He counseled by family several years ago. What a treasure he was. Hope you are blessed with many happy memories.
