BINKLEY, Vergilee "Vergie" – Of Flint, age 78, died Friday, May 21, 2004 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Dean Dumbrille officiating. Burial in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. Those desiring may make contributions to Shriners Children's Hospital or Genesys Hospice Care Center. Visitation 5-8PM Monday and 1-4 and 6-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Vergilee was born in Piggott, Arkansas on August 3, 1925 and was the daughter of Riley and Lottie (Pardon) Book. She married James L. Binkley on October 31, 1942 and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1987. She was a member of the Flint Garden Club and Shriners Hillbilly Clan #55, where she was the Possum Queen in 1992. Survived by children - Linda Sue Bolduc, Larry (Claudia) Binkley, Mike (Terry) Binkley, Melba (Paul) Wilson, Denise "Dee Dee" (Mike) Galonska; 17 Grandchildren; 15 Great-grandchildren; Sisters and Brothers – Ethel Hampton, Margie Jones, J.B. Book, Doylis Book, Ray Book, Fay Pridmore, Louise Harmon; Several nieces, nephews and special friends. She was also preceded in death by her 2 granddaughters, Angela (Binkley) Burk and Colleen Bolduc; her parents; sister, Edith Simpson; and brother, John Book. A special thank you to the Staff at Genesys Hospice.

I am so sorry for the loss in your family. I always enjoyed being around your mother, she would always have me, and Gary laughing about something. I'll never forget the wonderful time her, and my mother had one year here at my home for Thanksgiving. Them two ladies hit it right off, and my God how they both had us laughing so hard. She was a sweet women, and will be sadly missed. Love to the family, We feel your pain.

Toased cheese sandwiches,Slap Jack, and the 11 o'clock news was a fun night at Gramma Binkley's house. I remember staying up until after mid-night playing cards,eating snacks and having oatmeal with rasins for breakfast the next morning.
Now that I have two children of my own, I realize how much of an impact my grandma had on me. I spent almost every Tuesday night with my grandma and Granpa before he passed away. I admire my grandma for raising such loving children that turned into...
