Not sure what to say?

Verl and Lois were both a great blessing to our family. I remember one time asking why he has not ask me to go out on the mission field. It seemed he was always asking others. He answer was simple, HE said, " Your mission is here". Pastor Rod

We were so sorry to find out that Verl passed away in December. Lois, Jeri, Martin, Diane and families, we want to send our love and sympathy. It was so nice to see Verl and Lois in 2005 when they came back to Iowa. Verl enjoyed looking though my Koons Family Notebook I have compiled in my genealogy search. I know the Lord welcomed him home.
Please contact me, Jeri.

Many years ago, Verl would occasionally be a sub pastor at our church. Imagine our surprise while having breakfast on a cruise ship traveling back from Alaska when he and Lois walked up to our table! We often regreted not knowing that we were ship mates earlier so that we could have a daily bible study with them.
W E AUGSBURGER

Verl & Lois have been a part of my Spiritual family since their time in Baker City at the New Tribes Missionary Training Center. Most recently as my Pastor at Greenhurst Bible Church. His steady dedication to the Lord is the example I have looked to for 20 years! He always stated "My desire is for the Lord to say to me, "Well done, Thou Good and Faithful Servant"! I know that is what he heard as he entered Heaven!

Greetings, Verl I look forward to joining you someday in your new residence in Heaven. You must be relishing right now in what you had looked forward to during this your earthly life. Your example of one who loved Jesus and was commited to Him is one that I have admired for years. I am glad God gave me a relationship with you over the years and until we meet again I will look forward to being there with Jesus who makes it all worth it.

Verl Loved Jesus and that was plain to see by his teaching and love for others. Bless you Verl and will see you again. "For now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face"1Cor. 13:12

I did not have the opportunity to know Pastor Koons but I did visit his church once and was impressed by his love for the Lord. As I mourn the passing of a saint I also rejoice to know that he has entered into his reward. May the Lord bring comfort to his loved ones. God bless.

I loved Verl with all my heart. When I first walked into GBC, he was the first to greet me. He loved me as if I were his own. A true man of God who not only preached God's word but lived it also. His mind was sharp up to the very end. He was always an encouragement to me and showed nothing but love. I think of him as having passed from the body of this flesh into life eternal. His family is truly blessed to have had him in their lives as are we. God bless and keep his family. We shall see him...

I worked for Verl in the Santa Rosa postoffice, and respected his Love of God. May his family and friends always remember his faith. RIP. Alfred Libby Phoenix, Oregon.
