Not sure what to say?

My favorite time with Vern was when I spent a month with her in Chicago. I really got to know her as we spent many nights talking. I will truly miss her and will keep her in my memories forever.
Kim

One of my most vivid memories of Vern was when she came out to visit us in Santa Rosa when I was little. She very bravely slept on the hideaway sofa with Kim and I and told us ghost stories into the night.

As an adult in the Peace Corps, I corresponded with Vern and asked her to tell me some old family stories. She wrote me letters about life with my mother in Chicago and what my grandparents were like.

She was always willing to share with me.

I'm sorry that Vern is gone and I will miss her. She was always very kind to me. The birthday cards she sent me each year, along with a cheery message, were appreciated and enjoyed. I'll pray for her.

Vern was my aunt and my godmother. I have very fond memories of many good times together in Chicago, West Covina, Santa Rosa and here in Columbus. I will miss her and will remember her in my prayers.

I will be forever grateful that I was blessed to have Vern as my sister, although we both joked that she was more like a mother to me. Her love, support, help and concern will never be forgotten. In particular, the love and care she gave my daughter, Diana, remain among my most treasured memories. I will miss her and will keep her in my thoughts and prayers always. Marianne

Although I have vague memories of Vern when we visited Chicago when I was 5 or 6 years old, I vividly remember when she came to visit us in California when I was about 11 years old (so this was about 1972). We all got dressed up to go out to dinner at our favorite restaurant and Vern, my mother's older sister, looked great in her very hip hot pants! I still have the imagine so clear in my mind of my sisters and me sitting next to Vern on a stone bridge out in the woods near the restaurant....

When we had Mom's 70th birthday party, we came up with "Mom-pardy" Jeopardy-style game. Vern was the definite champion--she knew far more answers than anyone else. Her lively participation--and great memory--really made the party a success. Vern was as much a part of the Wootton family as she was of the Ferchlands, and we'll miss her presence at all the family events.

In October 1964 Lu was pregnant and Kimberly was due at anytime. I was commuting to Santa Rosa, Lacey was four and Karen was three. Vern came out from Cicago and to care of Lacey and Karen while Lu was in the hospital, and when Lu came home Vern took care of her, cleaned the house, took care of the other kids until Lu was on her feet again. She was unselfish in devoting her time to help I will always be grateful for that. Rick

Please feel free to leave a message. We'll read it at her service next month.

Thank you.
