Verna Huggins Blanton

Mrs. Blanton was my first grade teacher in 1968 @ Stiles Point. I have so many wonderful memories of that year! I wanted so badly to get an S+ in handwriting. I remember her telling me that my name was long and that I had to practice over and over. Eventually, I got the S+ I had wanted so much. She directed the first play I was ever in. Verna was such a beautiful lady. Loving and kind. So glad I got to spend time with her at The Blake these last few months. May God comfort her family during this difficult time.
