Verna Boggs, of Honor, MI, formerly of Swartz Creek , age 71, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Visitation 2-8pm Monday and 1pm Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Reverend Ed Goodman officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church in Benzonia, MI or New Life Wesleyan Church in Swartz Creek. Verna was born in Swartz Creek on July 19, 1941 and was a resident of Swartz Creek until moving to Honor, MI in 1998. On September 12, 1959, she married Robert R. Boggs. Verna was a member
of Faith Baptist Church in Benzonia, MI and belonged to a quilting club. She was employed with EDS at Buick City for 10 years. Surviving are husband Bob; children, Rhonda (Herb) Rhodes, Clarence "C.J." (Karen) Boggs, Sheila (Rick) Smith, Cheryl Bannister and Tina (Marti) Steil; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Latisha Roberts and sister-in-law, Thelma Warren. She was preceded in death by brothers, John Warren and Gerald Warren and his wife, Margaret and brother-in-law, William Edgar Roberts.
