CHARLES Mrs. Verna Lois Martin Charles, 60, was summoned home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 26, 2008. Not sure what to say?

Missing you Auntee Verna, All of a sudden you dropped in my spirit today and now I know why. Around this time of 9 years ago you were not feeling well and you were in what we later found out were your last days with us in the flesh. Today is just two weeks out and much like 9 years ago you were on my heart. It still feels like yesterday that I talked to you or spent time with you but the reality is that its been much longer than that. I really wish I could have held on to you much longer...

I am so sorry, forgive me. I tried to call and got no answer. I am in shock because I happen to read the notices on the computer at work today 05/28/08. I love you all and I will keep you in my prayers. Love Rebecca

To Philles and grand children, I cannot believe Mrs. Charles has passed. My mind went back to my dad, Mrs. Susie Martin, & Mrs. Charles when I was a child. You know my dad and them where really close. I remember the fish fry, crab boil, and her famous Lemon-aid that was so sweet it would kill you dead. She was a district president that always was searching for ways to bond the members together. Although, sometimes she could be direct with her comments. She meant no harm. She always wanted...

To: Phyllis and Family,

Phyllis, you and your family are in our prayers during this difficult time. I had the pleasure of knowing Verna for a very long time and no matter when you saw her she was always the same person. Her terrific personality and willingness to help wherever she could will be terribly missed. She has definitely left a void in the lives of so many. Always remember that God doesn't put anymore on us than we can bear. She is resting in the arms of Jesus and we can be...

TO THE CHARLES FAMILY, YOU WERE BLESSED BY THE BEST, VERNA'S GIVING WAS BEYOND WHAT MAN COULD EVER IMAGINE. I WORKED WITH HER UNTIL HER RETIREMENT, SHE WAS THE BEST ACCOUNTABLE PAPER SUPV. SHE WAS ALSO A GREAT COOK AND GIVER OF MANKIND. MONIQUE I AM GLAD THAT MY GIRLS WERE ABLE TO BE A PART OF YOUR GRANDMOTHER'S GOOD COOKING. HER LABOUR WAS NOT IN VAIN, SHE HAS RECEIVED HER REWARD. MAY GOD BLESS HER FAMILY.

ALWAYS,
WANDA, DEDRA AND DEON MCKINNEY

Although we were not present with you, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

It was my pleasure to know Verna for many years when we worked together at the Postal Service. She was a lovely lady who cared for others and she always had that beautiful smile. May God comfort your family during this time of grief.
