I was saddened to hear that Verna had passed away. My sympathy and thoughts are with the David family. I met Verna in 1981 when I was a first year teacher at Adams Junior High. Verna was a mentor to new teachers sharing much wisdom. She encouraged me to get my master's degree as soon as possible. Thankfully I heeded her wise advice and still benefit today from her wisdom. I think of her often and am very grateful for her influence early in my career. Verna leaves a wonderful legacy...
