She is survived by sons, Peter (Helen) Libby, Kurt (Janet) Libby; daughter, Marilyn (Dale) Mueller; 7 grandchildren, Adam (Andria) Libby, Erik (Jill) Libby, Rachel (Jason) Murphy, Josh Libby, Bill (Jen) Mueller, Heidi (Ron) Mueller-Lamprecht, Kris (Lisa) Mueller; 12 great-grandchildren, Alex, Ashlyn and Arika Libby, Molly and Brady Murphy, Tylar and Raissa Mueller, Chandler and Mercedes Mueller, Hannah Lamprecht, Ariel and Brooke Mueller; one sister, Astrid Guy; many relatives and friends. Verna graduated from St. Louis Park High School and The University of Minnesota as an R.N. and had a total of five degrees from the University. She went on to work at the old General Hospital in Minneapolis, now M.M. C., St. Joseph's in St. Paul and the Glen Lake Sanatorium and was also a camp nurse at Lake Iduhappi. In her later years, she and her husband Bill accumulated 4 thousand volunteer hours over seven years of working at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. They enjoyed that greatly and made many good friends. Verna was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Zuhrah Ladies Club. Another of Verna's accomplishments were her many ribbons won at the State Fair for her beautiful cake decorating. Many people were also the recipients of her beautifully decorated cakes and sugar Easter eggs with little scenes inside. Verna and Bill belonged to the Rose Society where they won ribbons for some of the 150 rose bushes that came from their front yard. They also helped put the roses down for winter at the Minnesota Arboretum. Mom was also a great fisherperson and could be found with her cane fishing pole whenever we were at the lake. Memorial service Sunday, January 27th, 1:30 PM at Zion Lutheran Church, 4th Street and Adams in Anoka. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Zion Funeral Committee Kitchen Fund. The family wishes to thank all the nice people at The Farmstead Assisted Living, in Andover, who made Mom's life so enjoyable. They were like leaving her with family. We also would like to thank the doctors at the University of Minnesota who were so kind and Fairview Hospice for their consideration and care.
