Not sure what to say?

Verna (and Earl) were the most awesome neighbors growing up. Verna always took an interest in us as kids. I particularly remember going into their house via the milk door, which was only big enough for a child. I also have fond memories of garden treats and the wonderful pear butter my mom made from their pear tree. Verna was a wonderful woman. My condolences to the family.

My heart is heavy with the passing of our lovely neighbor and friend Verna. When I was a young girl living across the street, I would go over to Verna and Earls house almost every day in the summer. I would walk right in the side kitchen door yell out "Hello!" and would be welcomed with big smiles and a yummy treat. I treasure my memories of Verna and Earl. Sending my love to the family, you have lost a gem.

Aunt Verna, My role model for hospitality, generosity and inclusiveness. Invited or unexpected, our family of 6 was welcome. Their Thanksgiving table included us. This setting along with the talk and stories are among the treasures of my family history. With gratitude, Pat Hanns

It is with great sadness that I heard about the passing of my cousin Verna. I remember times shared on the farm in what is now Beaverton, and more recent memories of visits and phone conversations over the years. Rest well, Verna.
