Not sure what to say?

I have the framed poem/marriage vows that he gave us for our wedding at Alma in 2000--great compassionate and kind soul. Grateful for his guidance and support at Alma as a sociology major. Just reviewed my note back over 10 years ago and the same message remains. Stephanie HIrchert-Walton

Loved Verne for his dedication to Alma College and the Gratiot area community...he will be missed.

I did not have the honor of having Dr. Bechill during my time at Alma College, but I did have some great conversations with him. He was the kind of person who was comfortable being himself, and he always encouraged students to see the brighter side of things. I am sorry for your loss.

Dr. Bechill was an outstanding professor, and I benefited greatly from his "Sex Roles and Relationships" class at Alma College in the early 80s. I have never forgotten the lessons that he taught me. To this day, I still quote words of wisdom from that one class.

Dr. Bechill was my advisor at Alma College from 1980 to 1984. I will always remember his assistance and sound advice. No one was more dedicated to his profession or his students. My thought and prayers are with his wife and family.

We still have the wedding gift that he and Shirley gave us back in 2000 hanging on our wall--My Promise of Love to You. Dr. Bechill was a gem and it was his Spring Term Interpersonal Relationships class (w/ Shirley also facilitating) that taught me so much! Was thrilled as a senior to be a TA for that class for Spring term in 1993. I appreciate his legacy and feel privileged to carry on his love for education, marriage and social justice.

I have fond memories of Dr. Bechill from my time at Alma College (1988-1992). I remember his generous and peaceful spirit. My thoughts are with his family.

Dr. Bechill was my advisor at Alma College for four years. I was blessed to have his peaceful guidance and unending encouragement. I still live by so many of the tenents he taught. God bless you and all of Dr. Bechill's family.
