It is not easy for me to say, Don't be sad at the loss of your Dad. He had a very long and fruitful life. He had each of you to love and he love'd you so much. Think of the good times and know he is not far away. Sorry I missed the services ..I didn't find out till today that he had passed

I spent many a late night around Verne's kitchen table listening to him tell stories about the Sangamon Valley boys, back when Verne was a steel player. What a tremendous gentleman he was! Verne was always good to me and I treasure his trademark grin as he and Miss Kay would dance past the band. Now, he and Kay can dance together and never get tired!
