TABRON, Vernelle V., was born August 18, 1940 to the late Elliott Simmons and Lily Mae Cook in Portsmouth, Va. She was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Tabron; and sister, Jean Bailey. She leaves to cherish her memory six children, Ronald Simmons (Betty) of Teaneck, N.J., James Simmons, Richard Simmons, Elizabeth Williams (Chris), Regina Tabron and Yvette Tabron, all of Richmond; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Cook; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where the family will receive friends Monday (today) 6 to 7 p.m., and where funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7, at 12 noon. Rev. Ronald C. Taylor, officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
