I will always remember Vernie from my youth. I knew Norma Foster Hughes for 54 years, best friends then, and Vernie was always in my thoughts in some form or fashion. I knew many other Breaziles' along with her.

I'm so glad I got to see Vernie two weeks ago. She meant so much to me; she was a very important influence in my life. She was a 2nd mother to me during a time when I was young and just becoming independent. She let me stay at her house and help her with the housework for room and board, when I was between places to live. She accepted me just as I was, without judgement, without trying to tell me how I should run my life. Her daughters were two of my closest friends, and Vernie treated me...
