Obituary of
Vernon E. Adams

Vernon E. Adams, age 69, of Bonnerdale, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010.

He was born on March 5, 1941, in Bonnerdale, the son of John Quincy Adams and Minnie Pearl Suit Adams. On June 2, 1962, he was married to Linda Cogburn. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jimmy Adams; and one sister, Virginia Johnson.

He was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Assembly and a farmer. He and his wife, Linda, owned and operated the Bonnerdale Store for over twenty years. He enjoyed fox hunting and watching western movies, especially ones starring John Wayne.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Adams of Bonnerdale; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Frankie Adams of Bonnerdale; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Danaisa and Ryan Robinson of Amity, Nathan Adams of Hot Springs, Autum Acevedo of Bonnerdale, Daniel and Ashley Adams of Glenwood, Joseph Acevado, Haley Johnson, Abby Light and Erika Adams, all of Bonnerdale; four great-grandchildren, Juanita Acevedo, Blane Acevedo, Hayden Robinson and Alexa Adams; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 10, 2010, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. David Thompson and Bro. Travis Cogburn officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Interment will be in the Howerton Wildwood Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Adams, Michael Diggs, Joseph Acevedo, Kelly Suit, Myron Cogburn, Darrell Harvey, Tim Efird and Ryan Robinson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Troy Oxner, Dr. Barton Parrish and the staff at West Shores Medical Clinic.

Memorials may be made to the Gospel Lighthouse Assembly Building Fund, c/o Teresa Cogburn, 3580 Old Caddo Gap Road, Bonnerdale, Arkansas, 71933.

Dear Nana, and dad it is almost a year since we lots Papaw. We greatly miss him and love him. I want to thank everyone for the prayers and support. It has been a life changing thing for me especially. I love you greatly Papaw and always will.
