So sorry to see my good friend had past. We worked together for many years at the truck and bus. We flew up to MIO just to get a hunting map. When he got his helicopter he and his wife flew it to my field and it was the event that drew all the neighbors. Vern was a dear frend!

Vern was a great guy. I worked with him at Truck Assembly and he got me interested in flying. He kept his Mooney airplane at Bishop airport. I'd help him get his job done early for lunch break and we'd sneak out and go flying for a hour or so. The boss asked us once where we'd been so we told him the truth "We've been up flying. Went to Owosso for dinner" The boss did not believe us. Fun times indeed.
