Not sure what to say?

One of the greatest men I have known. Warden of Vienna Correctional institution late 1970's. This man helped me become a respectable person. Today, after 43 years of my 1978 parole I still talk of Warden Housewright.

Happy Birthday, Vern! Always forever in my heart. Love, Wendy

Vern, good memories never go away. My mentor, I think of you often and use the lessons you taught me every day. You will always be in my heart. Miss you. Love you. Wendy

Steve, Brad, and families, please accept my deepest condolences on your loss.

As I worked with Vern, I grew to realize just how much of a positive impact he has had — not only on the corrections industry, but also on the lives and careers of an enormous number of individuals.

We were so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.

My first impression of Vern was that he was a true gentleman. He was soft spoken and friendly. As I grew to know him better I learned all about his illustrious career in corrections.

He was truly a leader and pioneer who knew more people than I could ever hope to know. In my early days with the...

Brad, I am sorry to hear about your loss. Terri and I will keep you and your family in our Prayers.
