The kindest man ever. He painted a touching, beautiful and totally enchanting painting of me driving my pony in the countryside. And, he added such light and joy to it by also including a rabbit scampering away, complete with bunny-prints in the snow---so delightful, like a children's book illustration come-to-life! About 3 years ago, I bought a beautiful landscape painting from a local resale shop. It was signed, "Vernon Kauffman." I Googled the name and found another Vernon Kauffman, a painter, in Ohio.

I was so saddened to hear that Mr. Kauffman had passed away. I will always remember him as the super cool dad in a Volkswagen bug, hauling us down to Atwood in the summer. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers tonight.
