I worked with Vernon while on the guard force back in the 80's. Vernon always made me laugh, with his jokes. And there was also a serious side, when it came to him talking about his family. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the family. Kim Simms (Germantown,Md)

My sincere condolences to the entire Powell family during this period of mourning.

Whenever I was at the church, I saw Mr. Powell; always a quiet and very dignified man.

I worked with Vernon for many years and always appreciated his positive attitude, genuinely warm and friendly smile and most of all, his willingness to help one in need. You have my deepest sympathy for your loss; my prayers are with you.
