Not sure what to say?

Vern was a terrific person and a good friend. He cared deeply about Portland and worked tirelessly to make it a better place, both through his own real estate developments and through his volunteer time with numerous community improvement efforts. Vern was a committed teacher, preparing the next generation of urban developers. And, he was also a lot of fun - a great traveler and connoisseur of wine, art and culture. Sending love to all of his family and friends who I know will miss him dearly.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. Vern was a wonderful person, and I'll miss him a lot.
Our condolences to his family.
With love,
Ron Blessinger and Ann Medellin

Just happened to see Vern's very recent obituary while trying to leave a message on another "Art Person" obituary, that of Nancy Frahm Green, who passed away Nov. 29. I just wanted to share that I always enjoyed Vern (and Linda) very much in my gallery. They were both intrinsic art lovers and lovers of good taste and humor. Sorry to hear this news. Much love, Mark Woolley

Vern was one in a million. He cared about the community and gave generously of his time.
