Vernon Roberts, 88, of Bangor, PA, passed away Tuesday, December 17th, at Gracedale, Northampton County Home, Nazareth, PA. Born: Vernon was born in Bangor, PA on November 3, 1925, a son of the late Hugh "Yooks" and Catherine A. (Pritchard) Roberts. Personal: He was employed in the shipping and receiving dept. at the former Bear Automotive in Bangor, PA, until retiring. Prior to that, Vernon was employed at the Bangor Water Authority. He served in the US Navy in WW II. Memberships: Vernon was a member of Presbyterian Parish of Bangor & Roseto in Bangor, PA. He was also a member of the Slate Belt Bowling League, the Blue Ridge Ski Club, and a member of the Ski Patrol at Camelback Mountain. Survivors: Vernon is survived by a sister, Rita Roberts, of Bangor, PA, nieces, nephews and cousins. Vernon was preceded in death by two sisters Margaret Romano and Elizabeth Reddinger and three brothers William, Sherwood, and Donald Roberts. Services: Services will be held at the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, 314 S. First St., Bangor, PA, at 11 AM on Saturday, December 21st, with Rev. J. Harry McElroy officiating. Call Saturday 10 - 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Bangor, PA. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Parish of Bangor & Roseto, 332 Kennedy Drive Bangor, PA 18013.

Rita: My deepest sympathy. I have fondest memories of us skiing and I was with him the last time he skied on Camelback Mt. He was always fun to be with.
