Not sure what to say?

Dear Carolina and the entire Spence family
We were so very saddened to read about Vern's death - although we didn't see him often, each time was an absolute pleasure. I know that he will be sorely missed. Our deepest sympathies are with all of you. Eventually, you will be able to "smile because he happened in your lives" rather than "cry because he's gone". To the Spence family, I send my deepest sympathy, I had the pleasure of knowing Vern in the early 70's when I worked with him in Santa Rosa City Schools. He was a great inspiration to me along with his wife Carolina. He will be deeply missed. May God watch over him now as Vern did for so many others. Fannie, Houston,Texas

I had the pleasure of being one of Mr. Spence's students during the 70's at Cook Jr. High. Mr. Spence provided his knowledge and passion for teaching, which made a lasting impression on most of our young minds! Thank you, and may you rest in peace.
