Vernon B. Tamalavicz

Vernon B. Tamalavicz ,85, of Berlin, MD passed away on November 7, 2014. Born in Baltimore he was the son of the late Bruno Tamalavicz and Catherine Nash. He was perceded in death by his loving wife Joy. Mr. Tamalavicz was the devoted Father of Kathleen J. Tamalavicz, and her partner Chip of Bishopville, MD; Vernon C. Tamalavicz, and his wife Ella of Asheville, NC; and Steven C. Tamalavicz Sr. of Berlin, MD, Mr. Tamalavicz was also a loving Grandfather of four children and Great-Grandfather of five children. He is survived by two sisters, Barbara Rife of Street, MD and Bonnie Fleck of Baltimore, MD; and in Spirit his late sister Vivian Weatherly. As a boy Mr. Tamalavicz enjoyed playing baseball and as a teenager had a paper route where he met Joy. At 18 he joined the Army and served our country in the Korean War. After the war he became an electrician with the Baltimore Electrical Union and worked for Honeywell. In 1970 he opened and operated his own electrical contracting company, Kirkwood Electric. Mr. Tamalavicz and his wife enjoyed taking their children to Ocean City, MD and in 1982 built a home in Ocean Pines. Mr. Tamalavicz continued being self employed until his retirement. Shortly after retiring he took care of his wife Joy until she died of ALS in 1996.
