Not sure what to say?

Dear Aunt Vi and Family, All my memories are wonderful and this summer visit added more to my memory bank. I am so sorry for the loss of your husband ,father and grandfather but so grateful that he was my Uncle and I spent time with him. Love you all Margie Lue

Don Coffee (Mechanicsburg,PA)

To The Thompson Family,
I have known a few of the Thompson family members for 20 years and several years ago I had the pleasure of coaching Dave's grand daughter (Lauren) in soccer. Dave, or "Mr T" as I called him, made every Saturday morning game regardless of the weather. He was the definition of a "man's man;" self made, brutally honest and direct but yet a family man in every sense of the word. He had a terrific sense of self and humor. One could not help but love and admire "Mr T"...

Walter y Ana Quesada, Costa Rica.

The Thompson Family,

This is a sorrowful time for you with the loss of Dave, a special loved one. May wonderful memories bring comfort ...and appreciation of the love he shared with you.

Thinking of you, Betty Holmboe

Vi and family: I enjoyed working with Dave at Agriculture for many years in the Regional Office and hearing the many stories of your travels and his experiences in the Navy. My first international travel was due to Dave's many stories of your world travels. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Dave's sense of humor as well as his love of country will be missed.

O Captain! My Captain!
By Walt Whitman

O CAPTAIN! my Captain! our fearful trip is done;
The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won;
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring:
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O...

Vi: Dave was a good friend. We have so many good memories--Traveling: Italy,Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Sicily, Spain (Gibraltar would not let us in) Sicily-the "non gas" episode.The winter sleigh ride in Germany.ETC.

Dan, Vi & Thompson clan, My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. I had the pleasure of taking care of Dave at Country Meadows. I will never forget the first day I met Dave. I admit I was a little intimidated by him but after a few days of caring for him it was obvious that Dave was nothing but a big Teddy Bear. He was always appreciative of everything that was done for him and was always thankful. I will miss taking him "little goodies"...
