my sisters and i as children loved visiting uncle vernon and aunt joyce, and we'd squeal with delight every time they visited us; they always gave us the most wonderful, thoughtful gifts for christmas; vernon was the happiest of souls w/a ready smile and many a story to tell, including family history.......your niece, rhonda

I have known Mr. Thompson for many years now. We met in a little place we both loved to eat called the Country Kitchen. Him and Patrick ate there just about everyday. Uncle Vernon was always my favorite Uncle. I will always remember his endless acts of kindness, jokes, laughter, and especially his genuine caring and loving heart. May the sorrow that we feel in our Hearts give way to Peace and Comfort from the "Eternal Illumination of God's Love." As a friend of my father, I did not know Mr. Thompson well. But I did know him good enough to know that he was a loving, caring, generous, and greatly loved man who brightened every life that he touched. I know that he loved his sons and his grandchildren dearly, and I believe that he thought of my dad as one of his own as well. He lived a good life, had wonderful friends, and wonderful family.
