My deepest condolences to all of Vern's family I can only imagine the grief and loss that everyone is feeling Vern had a big heart and loved people and animals I really believed he would survive and life to the fullest and i think he did too. He said "I believe in the healing power of prayer and positive thoughts" God bless you Vern and your family

I was a classmate of Vernon's from Coronado HS graduating in 1973. I remember Vernon as a friend who was always nice and kind. I recalled learning that he joined the US Coast Guard and thought, how original for a kid from Colorado Springs ! Then again, that was Vernon. Rest in peace Vernon, Marygrace Orff
