Veronica M. Cassidy

Veronica M. Cassidy, 83, of Gaywood Avenue, Attleboro, a retired spa owner and operator, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2007 in the Golden Living Center, Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Alvin R. Cassidy.
Born in South Attleboro, on October 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah (Bradley) Habershaw.
Veronica was raised in South Attleboro and educated in Attleboro schools and business school. She worked for the former Blackstone Finance Company in Attleboro, and was later employed in the City of Attleboro Welfare Office. She owned the Yarn Shoppe in Mansfield for ten years, and then owned and operated Nolin’s Spa on Pine Street in Attleboro with her late husband Alvin from 1973-1979.
Veronica was a communicant of Saint John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro, and was an Attleboro resident her entire life. She enjoyed gardening and traveling, having traveled throughout the continental United States, Hawaii, and twenty six foreign countries.
Veronica is survived by two children; Neil F. and his wife Betsey J. Cassidy of Attleboro, and Leslie A. Cassidy of New York City. Also survived by four brothers; Edward Habershaw of Bolivia, North Carolina, Frederick Habershaw of Pawtucket, Lawrence Habershaw of Attleboro, Frank Habershaw of Las Vegas, two sisters; Joan Mooney of Attleboro, and Rita Hutchinson of Malden, South Carolina, her two granddaughters; Erin E. Lunman of Sharon, and Lindsay R. Cassidy of Boston, and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late William, Robert, and Elizabeth Habershaw.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, May 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro.
A funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, May 23 at 9 AM from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Saint John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro celebrated by Rev. Richard Roy, pastor.
Mrs. Cassidy will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in St. John’s Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro.
