Veronica Everett Obituary

Everett, Veronica Anne Coyne Kilkerr

80, born on June 18, 1944, in Edinburgh, Scotland, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, in Ruskin, FL; leaving a legacy of love, dedication, and grace.

Veronica received her early education at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Aberdeen, Scotland, and later attended Skerry's College in Edinburgh. In 1961, she ventured to Germany to work with the United States Army, demonstrating her adventurous spirit and dedication to service. By 1964, she had immigrated to the United States, where she began working in New York for the esteemed law firm Baker McKenzie; subsequently attaining her United States Citizenship in 1966.

Ultimately, Veronica moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where she met Dr. James "Jim" Peek Everett Jr. Ph.D., the love of her life. Their deep and abiding love led to marriage on January 10, 1969. Jim affectionately called her his "Miss Precious," a testament to their enduring bond. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising a son, Mark.

In 1978, the Everett family relocated to Tampa, Florida, following Jim's transfer with Ralston Purina. Three years later, Veronica began her long and distinguished thirty-two year career with Thomas Financial; where she worked with dedication and professionalism until her retirement in December 2013.

Until her retirement, Veronica was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa and is currently an active parishioner at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Seffner. In addition to her unwavering faith, she was active in the community. Since 2002, she was a member of Centro Asturiano De Tampa, and charter member of their social club, Las Damas; ultimately serving as their president.

Veronica was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. Jim Everett, her dear brothers, Anthony and Brian Kilkerr, as well as her parents, Arthur Ovens Kilkerr and Catherine Coyne Kilkerr. She leaves behind her cherished son, Mark, her beloved granddaughter, Kathrine, along with countless friends, cousins and colleagues who deeply admired her. She will always be remembered for her kindness, sharp wit and strength.

Veronica's life was a testament to her strong faith, love, resilience, and commitment. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi, in Seffner, on January 29, 2025 with a viewing at 2 pm and service to follow at 3 pm. Friends and family will gather afterwards to celebrate Veronica's extraordinary life at Centro Asturiano at 5:30 pm. Pallbearers will be: Darrell Britt, Tucker Keene, Eric Kemper, Matthew Kilkerr, Simon Kilkerr, and Jason D. Montes, Esq.

Funeral arrangements are being facilitated by Gonzalez Funeral Home of Tampa, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Seffner, Florida or Las Damas del Centro Asturiano de Tampa in her memory.
