God blessed the world with an angel Vicki Renee Baxter. She was an inspiration to all! Vicki entered the world on September 23, 1949, to the late Shirley Moore in Columbus, Ohio.
Vicki married the late Eugene Baxter and from that union they had a beautiful daughter, Keisha Baxter. Keisha was not only her daughter but Vicki’s best friend. They did everything together until Keisha gained her wings on May 4, 2016. Although heartbroken, Vicki used every moment to honor, remember and celebrate the beautiful, funny, smart and amazing daughter she loved so dearly! Vicki vowed to continue the journey Keshia set forth in helping others by participating and attending events such as the Annual back to school events at NYC Administration for Children’s Services divisions in honor of Keshia, and a host of other important events.
Vicki worked as a social worker for the City of New York until she lost her sight. She went to Helen Keller School to learn how to live with her blindness. Vicki didn’t let that stop her from living her life like it was golden! She loved to have a good time. She partied like a rockstar, played cards and- would beat you!! Vicki loved her music and enjoyed going out to eat. Vicki was a true friend. She helped everybody. She was a light shining bright in the lives of many, even strangers!! Vicki was always thinking of others and giving words of wisdom, encouragement and support in time of need. She would give the shirt off her back if you needed it. And if you needed to be put in your place Vicki would do that too! Vicki was very stylish and sassy. She always stepped out with class; from her shoes, hair, nails and clothes. She knew how to make an entrance anywhere she went. Ms. Vicki turned heads!
Vicki leaves to cherish her memories, her granddaughter Adrianna Awer, although not by birth she loved her with everything in her; her two loving nieces Catherine Levalle and her five children, and Ivy Freeman and her three children; great nieces and nephews; her god son Van and his wife Kim; Keisha’s best friend Sandy, who was like a second daughter. If you had the opportunity in life to know an Angel, then you knew Vicki Renee Baxter also known as “Ms. Vicki.” She has transitioned to continue God’s work......she has not finished yet but has only begun as she lives on in our hearts forever!!!
